On a bed of rice
Spam on the menu.
An unexpected surprise,
Regret in disguise.
Tony was the boy next door. He owned a Sega. I had the Nintendo.
Tony and I would play often.
We played Mario Kart. I was always the winner.
We played play Sonic. I was always Tails.
Tony’s mom would fry Spam and add it to a bed of rice.
We would stuff ourselves and sit, outstretched on the living room floor, our necks craned towards the TV.
We watched Swat Kats.
I don’t know what happened to Tony. I don’t know if I left or he did.
But I remember the Spam.
I just don’t remember if I ever liked it.

Did I get new mail?
An unexpected surprise,
Regret in disguise.
My first email was through Yahoo!
I used it to sign up to various online fan clubs and bulletin boards.
The official Buffy The Vampire Slayer Fan Club.
The official Neverwinter Nights Fan Club.
The unofficial chronology of Wolverine Forum.
But I never received any direct mail.
Until I did.
I wish I hadn’t.
Today’s post didn’t come so easy. Some days are a blur.
But I hope you still enjoy the frivolity of today’s topic. I enjoyed the memories.
