I have emails to read. One thousand, six hundred and forty, to be exact. And that’s just the ones Logged into my app. I have three Discord pings. Direct ones, in fact. Two WhatsApp groups, Still waiting to chat. I have slacked on my Slack. Red icons intact. But worst of all, Is my Substack. I’ll never catch up
I have been considering the FOMO anxiety created through a platform such as this. Everyone wants their thing read, of course, but there are so many viable ones.
Should we feel a responsibility to read all of those we've subscribed to? How sad might the author feel if I immediately archive their post without having opened it? While they might not know, I will know that I didn't.
At what point do I stop using completely to avoid this feeling, this guilt of relieving things unread or removing? Just because I subscribed doesn't mean I need to read, and yet a social contract was created in my head that's telling me I have to else I might as well unsubscribe from them because I will be doing them no service.
Then again, it's not like I'm taking up space at a restaurant table. I don't _need_ to vacate to make room for others. So I persist in this form, unure what to do.

Genuinely I don’t have an answer. We shouldn’t have such unlimited access and yet I’m glad we do.
We should just start fresh and only read what gets published from here on out. Then we're caught up!
